Arsenal appear to have a gaping hole in the middle of the park. Denilson is a good young talent, however does not appear to be a person who can boss the midfield. Wenger has always built teams renowned for their silky skills, flair players and pacey attackers however many overlook extremely important players such as Patrick Vieira, Mathieu Flamini, Manu Petit and Gilberto Silva - all of whom were solid but were also capable of playing the game the Arsenal way.

Wenger's decision to stick with William Gallas as Arsenal captain has also been criticised recently by many pundits aswell as Arsenal fans. Wenger was lucky to have inherited Tony Adams when he was first appointed manager before shrewdly spotting the inspirational qualities of Patrick Vieira, however his last two appointments have been less successful. First Thierry Henry, and now William Gallas, which has left Arsenal short of an authoritive leader when it matters most. It would appear that Henry and Gallas were both appointed as a result of their seniority within the team rather than their leadership qualities.
